WAMP

I have installed WordPress on my computer. However, it seems that when adding content, I cannot view the individual pages. For instance, I tried writing a similar post on the local server, but when clicking through the title to view the individual post / associated comments, it takes me to the default “localhost home page.” I’m not sure why this is or how to resolve it. My research has proven fruitless.

WAMP

I believe I have just successfully installed WordPress on my local computer. However, since I installed it after creating content on the live site, I can’t seem to get it to appear. I am adding this post to see how it will react. Hopefully, I can get this part figured out so that I don’t have to make all the edits on live site.

Installation Complete

When first attempting to install WordPress, I tried to follow the directions found on the WordPress.org site because I wasn’t sure if the WordPress install for GoDaddy was WordPress.com or WordPress.org. I believe I successfully got through step 4 of the “Famous 5-minute Install” found on page 16 of the text. However, step 5 proved confusing because I wasn’t sure where best to upload the WordPress files and I would have had to upload each file individually. Instead, I opted to use the GoDaddy install instructions provided on Blackboard. From there, it was a fairly straightforward install that didn’t require me to really understand anything that was going on. I find that good and bad. I am trying to learn as much as possible about WordPress, but feel that the text and online instructions glaze over some of the more technical instructions that I believe would help give me a better understanding of how WordPress integrates with GoDaddy’s hosting.
