New web lab highlights multiple devices, usability testing

Author(s): , 319 comments

The newest lab addition to the GIT family is the Web Device and Usability Lab. It’s located in Santa Catalina 157, and the official opening is fall 2014. The lab contains numerous devices, from a big-screen TV to smartphones, for testing websites and web applications. The lab also has software available for students to test websites for user experience and usability issues.

“This lab is going to allow for students, faculty and community members to test websites for usability and for any display issues that can happen when transitioning between different screen sizes,” said Deborah Prewitt, lecturer in GIT and co-director of the lab. “It’s also going to allow students to use Morae, a great click-tracking software that will test whether the elements on your webpage are placed where users are looking for them.”

Students are welcome to use the lab. Contact Christina Carrasquilla or Deborah Prewitt for access.

Nice blog! Is your theme custom made or did you download it from somewhere? A theme like yours with a few simple adjustements would really make my blog shine. Please let me know where you got your design. Cheers

Nice post. I be taught one thing more challenging on different blogs everyday. It can all the time be stimulating to learn content from other writers and observe slightly one thing from their store. I’d choose to use some with the content on my weblog whether you don’t mind. Natually I’ll provide you with a hyperlink in your net blog. Thanks for sharing.
